Making Your Profile Public

Your MYZO profile starts in private mode. This guide explains how to make your profile public, what happens when you do, and when to use private mode.

How to Make Your Profile Public

Follow these steps to make your profile visible to visitors:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Find the About Me section
  3. Look for the Make profile public toggle switch
  4. Turn it ON to make your profile visible

The change takes effect immediately. Your profile is now accessible to anyone with your profile URL.

What Happens When Your Profile is Public

When your profile is set to public, the following things occur:

  • Anyone can view it: People with your profile URL can see all your public information
  • QR code works: Scanning your QR code takes visitors to your profile
  • Links are active: Visitors can click your contact, social, and custom links
  • Analytics track visits: Profile views and link clicks are recorded
  • Search visibility: Your profile may appear in search results if indexed

This is the normal state for most users who want to share their digital business card.

What Happens When Your Profile is Private

When your profile is set to private, the following things occur:

  • Visitors see an error: People visiting your URL see a "Profile not found" message
  • QR code does not work: Scanning your QR code shows an error message
  • No public access: Only you can see your profile when logged in
  • Analytics pause: No new visits are recorded since no one can access your profile
  • Data is preserved: All your information remains saved and secure

Private mode completely hides your profile from public view.

When to Use Private Mode

Private mode is useful in several situations:

During Initial Setup

Keep your profile private while you:

  • Add your basic information
  • Upload your profile photo
  • Add links and contact details
  • Choose and customize your template

Once everything looks good, switch to public.

During Major Updates

Use private mode when:

  • Completely redesigning your profile
  • Updating many links at once
  • Making significant changes to your information
  • Fixing issues with your content

Taking a Break

Private mode helps when:

  • You need a break from public visibility
  • You are between jobs and updating your profile
  • You want to temporarily hide your online presence

Testing Changes

Private mode allows you to:

  • Test new content before publishing
  • Review how changes look
  • Get feedback from trusted people (share while logged in)

Switching Between Public and Private

You can switch between public and private mode at any time:

  1. Go to the About Me section in your dashboard
  2. Toggle the Make profile public switch
  3. Changes take effect immediately

There is no limit to how often you can switch.

Data Safety in Private Mode

Your data is completely safe in private mode:

  • Nothing is deleted: All your information stays saved
  • Toggle freely: Switch back to public anytime
  • Full restoration: Everything appears exactly as you left it
  • No data loss: Links, widgets, stickers, and settings remain intact

Think of private mode as hiding your profile, not deleting it.

Viewing Your Own Private Profile

Even when your profile is private, you can still view it:

  1. Make sure you are logged in to your MYZO account
  2. Click View Public Profile in the sidebar
  3. You will see your full profile as it would appear to visitors

This helps you review your profile before making it public.

Best Practices for Going Public

Before making your profile public, check that:

  • Your display name is correct
  • Your bio is complete and professional
  • All links work correctly
  • Contact information is accurate
  • Your template looks good
  • You have previewed on both desktop and mobile
