Why Was My Link Blocked?
MYZO automatically blocks URLs from known malicious websites to protect you and your profile visitors. This guide explains why links get blocked and what you can do about it.
Why Links Get Blocked
MYZO maintains a security database of dangerous websites. When you add a link, we check it against this database. Links are blocked to protect visitors from:
- Phishing sites: Fake websites that steal login credentials
- Malware sites: Websites that distribute viruses or harmful software
- Botnet servers: Command and control servers for malicious networks
- Payload delivery sites: Websites used to deliver malicious files
How the Protection Works
Our security system:
- Maintains a database of known dangerous domains
- Updates daily with threat intelligence from trusted sources
- Checks every URL when you add or update a link
- Blocks URLs that match known threats
This happens automatically to keep all MYZO users safe.
What to Do If Your URL Is Blocked
If It Is Your Own Website
Your website may have been compromised without your knowledge:
- Run a security scan using tools like Google Safe Browsing or VirusTotal
- Check for malware or malicious code
- Clean any infections you find
- Update all software and plugins
- Change all passwords
- Contact MYZO support once your site is clean
If It Is Someone Else's Website
The website may genuinely be dangerous:
- Do not add the link
- Look for an alternative official website
- If you believe it is a false positive, contact support
Can You Bypass This Protection
No. URL blocking cannot be bypassed. This is intentional because:
- It protects your profile visitors
- It prevents harmful links from spreading
- It maintains trust in MYZO profiles
False Positives
Sometimes legitimate websites appear on blocklists due to:
- Temporary compromise that has since been fixed
- Shared hosting with malicious sites
- Errors in threat intelligence feeds
If you believe a URL is incorrectly blocked, contact support with:
- The URL you are trying to add
- Why you believe it is safe
- Your relationship to the website (if any)
We will review the situation and update our database if appropriate.
