QR Code Not Scanning
If your MYZO QR code is not scanning properly, this guide helps you identify and fix the problem.
Check Lighting Conditions
QR codes require adequate lighting to scan. For best results:
- Ensure sufficient ambient lighting
- Avoid direct glare on the screen or printed code
- Move away from very dark environments
Verify QR Code Size
If the QR code is too small, it may not scan properly.
| Display Method | Minimum Size |
|---|---|
| On screen | At least 2 x 2 inches |
| Printed | At least 1 x 1 inch (2.5 x 2.5 cm) |
| Business cards | At least 0.8 x 0.8 inches (2 x 2 cm) |
Larger QR codes are easier to scan from a distance.
Keep Camera and Code Steady
Movement can prevent successful scanning:
- Hold the phone steady
- Keep the QR code still
- Allow a moment for the camera to focus
Clean the Camera Lens
A dirty or smudged camera lens reduces scanning ability:
- Wipe the lens with a soft, clean cloth
- Remove any protective case that might interfere
- Ensure nothing is obstructing the camera
Try a Different Scanning Method
Different devices scan with varying effectiveness:
iPhone
- Open the Camera app
- Point at the QR code
- Tap the notification when it appears
Android
- Open the Camera app or Google Lens
- Point at the QR code
- Tap the link when it appears
Alternative
- Download a dedicated QR scanner app
- Some apps have better scanning capabilities
Check Contrast
QR codes need good contrast to scan properly:
- Black code on white background works best
- Avoid low-contrast color combinations
- Ensure the code is not faded if printed
Regenerate the QR Code
If the code consistently fails to scan:
- Go to your Dashboard
- Find the QR Code section
- Click Generate QR Code again
- Download the fresh QR code
- Test the new code
Verify Profile Is Public
If the QR code scans but shows an error page:
- Your profile may be set to private
- Go to your Dashboard and ensure the public toggle is ON
- The QR code links directly to your profile URL
