Finding and Adding Connections
Adding connections on MYZO helps you build your professional network and maintain relationships with people you meet. This guide covers the different methods for finding and connecting with other MYZO users, what happens after you send a request, and best practices for networking.
Methods for Adding Connections
There are three main ways to connect with someone on MYZO:
Method 1: From Their Profile Page
The most common method is connecting directly from someone's profile:
- Navigate to the person's MYZO profile URL
- Look for the Connect button on their profile
- Click the button to send a connection request
- Wait for them to accept your request
This method works when you know the person's MYZO username or have their profile URL.
Method 2: After Scanning Their QR Code
QR codes make connecting at events quick and easy:
- Use your phone camera to scan their MYZO QR code
- Their profile opens in your browser
- Click the Connect button on their profile
- The connection request is sent immediately
This method is ideal for networking events, conferences, and in-person meetings.
Method 3: From a Shared Link
When someone shares their profile link with you:
- Click the MYZO profile link they shared
- View their profile page
- Click the Connect button
- Your request is sent to them
This method works for connections made through email, messages, or social media.
What Happens After Sending a Request
Once you send a connection request, the following process occurs:
| Step | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1 | Your request status changes to Pending |
| 2 | The other person receives a notification |
| 3 | They see your request in their Connections dashboard |
| 4 | They can choose to Accept or Decline |
| 5 | If accepted, you both become connected |
You can monitor your pending requests in your Dashboard Connections section.
Canceling a Pending Request
If you need to withdraw a connection request before it is accepted:
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click on Connections
- Find the pending request you want to cancel
- Click Cancel Request
- The request is withdrawn immediately
The other person is not notified when you cancel a pending request.
Connection Request Etiquette
Follow these guidelines for professional networking:
When to Send Requests
| Appropriate | Not Appropriate |
|---|---|
| People you met in person | Complete strangers |
| Business contacts you have communicated with | Random profiles you found |
| Colleagues and collaborators | People who previously declined |
| Event attendees you spoke with | Inactive or suspicious accounts |
| People who booked time with you | Mass requests to many users |
Best Practices
- Connect with people you know: Base connections on real relationships
- Quality over quantity: Focus on meaningful connections
- Be patient: Give people time to respond to requests
- Accept declined requests gracefully: Some people may not accept, and that is acceptable
Connection Limits
Currently, MYZO does not impose strict limits on the number of connections you can have. However, we recommend:
- Sending requests only to people you have actually met or interacted with
- Avoiding sending many requests in a short time period
- Focusing on building a network of genuine professional relationships
Excessive or spam-like connection behavior may be flagged by the system.
