Managing Your Connections

The Connections dashboard in MYZO provides a central location for viewing and managing your professional network. This guide covers how to view your connections, accept or decline requests, remove connections, and organize your growing network.

Accessing the Connections Dashboard

To view and manage your connections:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Click on Connections in the navigation menu

The Connections page displays all your connection information in organized sections.

Understanding the Connections Dashboard

The dashboard organizes your connections into three main sections:

All ConnectionsPeople you are currently connected with
Pending SentRequests you have sent that are awaiting response
Pending ReceivedRequests from others that are awaiting your action

Switch between these views to manage different aspects of your network.

Connection List Information

Each connection card displays the following information:

Title or bioA preview of their professional information
Connection dateWhen you became connected
Quick actionsButtons for viewing profile or removing connection

This information helps you identify and manage your connections.

Accepting Connection Requests

When someone sends you a connection request:

  1. Go to your Connections dashboard
  2. Navigate to the Pending Received section
  3. Find the incoming request
  4. Review their profile if needed
  5. Click Accept to connect with them
  6. Or click Decline to reject the request

Once you accept, they appear in your All Connections list.

Declining Connection Requests

If you prefer not to connect with someone:

  1. Find their request in the Pending Received section
  2. Click the Decline button
  3. The request is removed from your pending list

What Happens When You Decline

  • The other person is not notified of your decline
  • The request simply disappears from their pending sent list
  • They can send another request in the future if they choose

When to Decline Requests

Consider declining requests from:

  • People you do not know or have not interacted with
  • Spam or suspicious accounts
  • Profiles that appear inappropriate
  • Anyone you prefer not to have in your network

You are under no obligation to accept every request.

Removing Existing Connections

To disconnect from someone you are currently connected with:

  1. Go to your Connections dashboard
  2. Find them in your All Connections list
  3. Click on their connection card or the options menu
  4. Click Remove Connection
  5. Confirm the removal when prompted

What Happens When You Remove

  • They are removed from your connections list
  • You are removed from their connections list
  • They are not notified of the removal
  • They may notice if they check their connections list
  • Either party can send a new connection request later

Searching Your Connections

As your network grows, use the search function to find specific connections:

Search Options

  1. Click the search bar in the Connections section
  2. Enter the person's name
  3. Results filter as you type
  4. Click on a result to view their connection details

Finding Connections

You can search by:

  • Full name
  • First name only
  • Last name only

The search function helps you quickly locate people in a large network.

Organizing Connections

Currently, the Connections feature displays connections in a simple list format. The following organizational features are not yet available:

  • Creating folders or groups
  • Adding custom tags or labels
  • Custom sorting criteria
  • Categorizing by industry or relationship type

These features may be added in future platform updates.

Viewing Connection Profiles

To view a connection's full profile:

  1. Find them in your connections list
  2. Click on their name or profile photo
  3. Their profile opens in a new view
  4. Access their contact information and links

This allows you to quickly find contact details for people in your network.

Connection Privacy Settings

Your connections list remains private:

Other users cannot see who you are connected with. Your network remains confidential.

Best Practices for Managing Connections

Follow these recommendations for effective connection management:

Regular Review

  • Periodically review your connections list
  • Remove connections that are no longer relevant
  • Keep your network focused and valuable

Prompt Responses

  • Check pending requests regularly
  • Accept or decline requests in a timely manner
  • Do not leave requests pending indefinitely

Network Maintenance

  • Keep your own profile updated
  • Remove inactive or irrelevant connections
  • Focus on quality over quantity
