Adding Custom Links
Custom links let you share any URL on your MYZO profile. This guide explains how to add, customize, and manage custom links effectively.
Understanding Custom Links
Custom links are flexible links that can point to any website or online resource. Unlike contact links or social links, custom links do not have preset formats. You control both the title and the destination URL.
Common Uses for Custom Links
Custom links work well for many purposes:
- Portfolio websites: Showcase your work and projects
- Blog posts: Share your latest articles or writing
- Online stores: Link to your products or services
- Booking pages: Let visitors schedule time with you
- Resume or CV: Share your professional background
- Project pages: Highlight specific work or case studies
- Event registration: Promote upcoming events
- Documents: Share presentations, guides, or downloads
- Landing pages: Direct visitors to specific campaigns
How to Add a Custom Link
Follow these steps to add a custom link:
- Go to your Dashboard
- Navigate to the Profile section
- Click the Custom Links tab
- Click the Add Link button
- Enter a title (what visitors will see)
- Enter the URL (where the link goes)
- Click Save to add the link
Your new custom link appears immediately on your profile.
Creating Effective Link Titles
The title is what visitors see on your profile. Write clear, descriptive titles:
| Good Titles | Why They Work |
|---|---|
| View My Portfolio | Clear action and destination |
| Book a Free Consultation | Includes value proposition |
| Download My Resume | Specific and actionable |
| Read My Latest Article | Tells visitors what to expect |
| Weak Titles | Why They Do Not Work |
|---|---|
| Link | Does not describe destination |
| My Stuff | Not professional |
Automatic Metadata
When you add a URL, MYZO automatically fetches information from the destination website:
- Favicon: The small icon from the website
- Open Graph image: A preview image if available
- Description: A brief summary of the page
This metadata makes your links look professional with rich previews. Not all websites provide this information.
URL Requirements
Your custom link URLs must meet these requirements:
- Use HTTPS: Always include
https://at the beginning - Be accessible: The URL must be publicly accessible
- Be valid: The destination page must exist
Example of correct format:
https://www.example.com/your-page
Example of incorrect format:
example.com/your-page
www.example.com/your-page

Security and Blocked URLs
MYZO protects visitors by blocking URLs from known malicious websites. If a URL is blocked:
- You will see an error message when trying to add the link
- The URL may be on a security blocklist
- The website may be flagged for malware or phishing
If you believe a URL is incorrectly blocked, contact support with details about the website.
Best Practices for Custom Links
Follow these recommendations:
- Use descriptive titles: Help visitors understand where each link goes
- Limit the number of links: Too many links can overwhelm visitors
- Remove outdated links: Delete links that no longer work or are relevant
- Test all links: Verify that each link works before making your profile public
- Highlight important links: Use the highlight feature for your most important content
Troubleshooting Custom Links

If the preview image or description does not appear:
- The website may not have Open Graph tags
- Try removing and re-adding the link
- Some websites block preview fetching
Link Not Working
If visitors cannot access your link:
- Verify the URL is correct and complete
